Stuff You Can Buy
Disclaimer: Look, I do not collect merchadise. I just have fun searching databases, and I'm sure you can find better prices than Amazon's, but their listings are useful. No recommendations are express or implied, and no guarantees.
DVDs
In the US, MPI is producing these, and by October 2004, we'll have the last two series. (Amazon link)
In the UK, the dvds are produced by Cinema Club, and there's an entire boxed set on amazon.co.uk

Soundtrack
No, the theme music is not a well-known classical composition. Patrick Gowers, the series composer also wrote the main theme. The violin solo for the first season was performed by his (then teenaged) daughter Kathy; Gowers wanted a 'gifted amateur' sound, as that's how Holmes's playing is described. The CD and later series soloist is Kenneth Sillito.
Amazon lists a CD but I have no idea if it's identical to the older version I bought on cassette in 1989.
